New Chef Michael Smith Signature Event and Culinary Events announced as part of the Fall Flavours lineup.

Organizers today announced the addition of a new Signature Event to the Fall Flavours lineup this fall, featuring PEI’s own Chef Michael Smith as the celebrity chef host.

Grilling and Chilling at The Inn at Bay Fortune takes place September 25th and promises “an immersive menu prepared with vegetables grown on the restaurant’s own organic farm and Upstreet Brewery’s craft beers. The Fire Brigade will deploy a live-fire battery of Big Green Eggs and pour a carefully curated flight of lagers, ales, pilsners and special limited edition treats!”

“Chef Michael’s initiative to develop this unique event shows his commitment to Fall Flavours and our superb PEI products” says John Rowe, chairman of the Food Island Partnership, the organizing group for Fall Flavours. “This is going to be a fantastic addition to the Festival lineup and a true showcase of PEI’s culinary excellence”.

Fall Flavours takes place at locations across Prince Edward Island from September 2nd – October 2nd, and Celebrity Chefs will host at each of the fifteen Signature Events. In addition to Chef Michael, visiting chefs are Chef Lynn Crawford, Chef Corbin, Chef Chuck Hughes, Chef Vikram Vij, Chef Anna Olson and Chef Mark McEwan.

Festival patrons will also be able to enjoy a collection of intriguing new Culinary Events.  Leading the way are Pig Roast in the City, Sept. 2, Sites and Bites, Sept. 8, 14 and 21, Boun Appetito, Sept. 14, Fresh from the Garden, Sept. 16, and Discover Charlottetown with your Taste Buds, Sept. 22.

“The quality of our Culinary Events, hosted by the best of PEI’s impressive local chefs, gets better every year” says John Rowe. “I know our patrons will love these exciting new events”.

The Fall Flavours Festival, held at venues across Prince Edward Island from Sept. 2nd – October 2nd, is hosted by Canada’s Food Island and is an initiative of the Food Island Partnership. Food Island Partnership is a collaboration between the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, Prince Edward Island departments of Economic Development and Tourism, and Agriculture and Fisheries, as well as industry representatives. Food Island Partnership was created to develop innovative food industry partnerships, culinary experiences and promotional programs.
