Victoria by the Sea is a picture-perfect village on the south shore of Prince Edward Island. Its cultural and culinary offerings are as rich as the red soil, red sands and cliffs that surround it. It's tree-lined streets, historic architecture, artisans, galleries and charming residents make it an ideal place to wander and explore Set on the sparkling Northumberland Strait, the views are panoramic – both of earth and sea – a working wharf at the foot of its main street, farm fields in the distance, a lighthouse, and in the heart of town, Victoria Playhouse, its historic community hall.
Guests will begin at The Victoria Playhouse, then will stroll through Victoria’s streets to discover and explore its galleries and shops, while sampling local wines from the nearby vineyards and appetizers served at village shop-keepers Island Chocolates, Studio Gallery, By the Sea Kayaking, and Coach House Antiques. The rich culture of the area will be highlighted not only in its shops and galleries, but also by buskers performing in its streets.
As the sun begins to set, guests will be seated at one of two village restaurants to savour a dinner created by award-winning local chefs and Food Network celebrity chef, Massimo Capra. In true community style, the very same feast will be served at the Landmark Café and the Lobster Barn Pub. A number of local food producers are but a stones throw away, so expect to see offerings from land and sea on the menu.
